rent24 enters Croatian market through joint venture with Hub385

Berlin, October 25, 2018: One of the market leaders in coworking is coming to Croatia: rent24, has acquired a majority stake in Zagreb based Hub 385, the best known coworking space in Croatia. The German based company is with currently over 50 coworking and coliving locations on three continents one of the world’s largest players in the industry. rent24`s market entry in Croatia was planned for some time, as founder and CEO Robert Bukvić explains: “The tech-scene in Croatia is vibrant. Croatian companies work for global players and increasingly attract foreign capital. The education in computer sciences is also very good – we see a lot of potential for Croatia to become a European tech-hub.” In addition, the country has a very special significance for the former professional basketball player: “My family is from Croatia. Ever since I started the company I wanted to expand here as well.”

Hub 385 is located in the centre of Zagreb, offering over 2.000 sqm of coworking and event space. In over two years, it has become a hangout place for the startup and enterpreneur community with a tech focus, as well as known for a variety of educational and business events. Ivana Šoljan, Managing Director at Hub 385, comments: “The partnership with rent24 gives us completely new opportunities. Our local expertise combined with rent24`s global network and corporate standards will be a strong foundation for a further expansion across Croatia. We want to contribute to the growth of rent24 and hopefully expand our concept with coliving spaces as well.”In the next two years, additional spaces are planned to open in Croatia. Members of Hub 385 can use the global network of rent24`s spaces and vice versa.
